Full course description
Research facilities are considered a high risk environment. They pose a variety of work health and safety (WHS) risks that require management by the University. University researchers, technical personnel, laboratory managers, facilities staff and safety advisors are responsible for implementing and supporting University arrangements for a safe work environment and safe systems of work. This responsibility extends to external visitors invited to work within University laboratories and high risk areas. This module introduces external visitors to how we manage safety and wellbeing overall within the University together with outlining key safety principles and control measures for the hazards applicable to laboratory environments.
