OverviewThis high impact course presents a hands-on approach to strategic management, with a balanced mix between strategy development and execution issues. From a managerial perspective, the course will give participants an understanding of the key leverage points and decision areas which they may influence, to better meet organisational objectives.Developing a Compelling Strategy presents a unified way of thinking about the issues of strategic choice and the management of change. Strategic choice involves searching for the most attractive option to solve a business issue; while the management of change, from a strategic perspective, is concerned with innovation and the transformation of resources and skills into strategic capabilities that provide the basis for sustainable achievement of organisational objectives. Strategic management is also a course on strategic planning in that it provides a planning framework around which the issues of strategic choice and change can be discussed.

Alina is a leading management consultant specialising in complex problem solving for a variety of clients throughout Adelaide and interstate. Prior to this role, she led the Business Advisory Practice for an international consulting firm in Adelaide. Alina has also lectured in the areas of Strategy, Risk and Project Management at the University of Adelaide since 2003. Her relevant areas of expertise include strategic analysis, business and marketing planning, corporate governance, business case analysis, risk management, economic and industry development, change management, strategic procurement and, of course, contract management. She has designed and implemented multiple training programs on many of these topics to a range of corporate and government clients, both locally and internationally.
